The Dovetail Template is a truly pocket-sized jig that makes it easy to lay out both the slanted and square lines for dovetails at either 1:6 or 1:8 slopes. Black steel blade for angled layout will mark dovetails up to 1-3/8" deep; brass stock for marking square lines is 1-7/16" long.

I use this for laying out all of my dovetails. It is the easiest, most flexible and most reliable of the templates available.
